What kind of digital fabrication can you do?
What is digital fabrication?
Digital fabrication is the process of using 2D and 3D software to design physical objects that are then created by computer controlled machinery. These objects can be either cut from an existing piece of material (subtractive) or printed out using a range of soluble materials (additive). If you can dream it we can build it!
What does “CNC” stand for?
Computer Numericially Controlled. It refers to machine tools that are controlled by computers. Basically you use CAD (Computer Aided Design) software to create a 2D or 3D design which is then processes by another software application that converts this design into coordinate or image code that can be understood by the CNC machine. This code is then uploaded to the machine which fabricates the design automatically!
